The Runelords Board Game is an exciting, hybrid-gaming experience for one to four players. Blending the deep strategies of a deck-building, resource management engine with the payoff of action-packed, hex-based combat, this unique system offers numerous game modes and endless replayability.  

 

The gameplay is broken into two primary stages:

SOVEREIGNTY STAGE

 

Build your army by gathering influence from your recruit cards to, in turn, recruit more powerful cards for the battle ahead.  Equip your army with powerful weapons to give them the advantage on the battlefield while taking endowments from your most loyal of vassals to unluck the legendary power of your runelord!

COMBAT

 

Take the army you've built and try to edge out a victory over the opposition with simple, yet robust, rules of engagement.  How well did you prepare? 

 

No time for a deck builder?  No problem!  Just select a runelord and jump into the fire with pre-built decks ready to test any opponent!

Based in the world of the best selling fantasy series by acclaimed author David Farland, dive into this exciting new gaming experience that offers more than a dozen game-modes including multiplayer PvP, Co-Op, and a solo legacy campaign with stories edited by David Farland himself!

THE RECRUITS

With more than sixty exciting recruits to bolster your army, finding synergies and advantage play has never been this fun.  As the market's inventory depletes, you must manage your influence and make appropriate destination choices each round to ensure your runelord recruits the best army possible.

THE BATTLEFIELDS

Engage your armies on four beautifully painted, modular battlefields, each made up of six individual tiles ready for war at any scale.  

Have a proper war table?  Great!  Combine two of our maps for an even larger, 38x54" battlefield to support epic

four-player deployment!

STORYBOOKS AND ADVENTURES

ADVENTURES are just plain fun and can be played either solo, or cooperatively with a friend!  A ferocious Aykin has taken home in your blood metal mines, or a group of important nobles have been attacked in the streets of the city and need your protection.  Perhaps the rumors of the return of the Reavers are true?  Every adventure is a one-off gaming experience that may or may not need you to build an army before engaging in a final conflict.   

STORYBOOKS fuel the solo legacy play as you complete dynamic stories, packed with decision-making scenarios that will affect the coming battle.  You can then carry the recruits, equipment, and endowments you've earned from one story with you into the next, unlocking achievements, legendary characters, weapons and more along the way. 

NOTE:  This aspect of play will need to be unlocked through stretch goals during the campaign.

Need to pass some time before the game's release?  Dive into the epic fantasy series by David Farland and catch a glimpse of what a runelord can really do.  

With eight masterfully written novels in the series and the ninth and final installment due out soon, its the perfect time to get caught up on the lore that inspired the game.
